Discussion Guide
- What is the difference between an email address and a Web address?
An email address is for sending electronic mail, while a web address, also known as a URL, is for visiting websites. Note that a Web address never contains an “@ ” sign.
- Can you give some examples of email addresses?
Ask your students to share their own email address or fictional ones, and write them up on the board if possible.
- Why is it important that an email address is spelled correctly?
If the email address is not entered 100% correctly, the message will return to you and not reach the recipient.
- How much does it cost to send an email message?
It’s free!
- Do email messages always get delivered?
Discuss possible problems that could cause an email not to be delivered (such as wrong email addresses, large attachments, being flagged as spam, etc).
