Activities
- Have students create mental models of the Internet by asking them to draw maps of the network.
- Visit the site of the Pew Internet & American Life Project [http://www.pewinternet.org]. Read the recent reports and trends about the Internet’s impact on contemporary life. Of interest to teenagers is the Teens, Social Media & Technology Overview 2015 [http://www.pewinternet.org/2015/04/09/teens-social-media-technology-2015/].
Discussion Guide

Ask students for specific examples of their own Internet use, such as ordering food, watching movies, downloading music, online banking, meeting new people, etc.

Ask students for specific examples and discuss why they may not be possible.
